Once upon a time, we all were excited about craftsmanship, playing with different colours, sketching, painting our own imaginary thoughts and it was adolescence which could never comeback. It was then someone came up with the idea to spent time with children who are deprived of social Livelihood, make them paint Diwali Diyas and decorate greeting cards. That moment was flourished with reminiscence about those cherubic days. Thanks to our awe-inspiring fellow beings Amrita and Rashi who came up with such a splendid thought.
It was an Election Day, everyone trying to run helter-skelter selecting their best candidature who would change the world around for themselves or their loved ones. It was only a group of few youngsters who felt the need to bring happiness in some tiny-tots life. Yes it was We friends who decided to visit abundant life ministries which was located somewhere in the suburbs of Mumbai not far remote but adjacent to Goregaon Industrial estate.
When we entered the Children’ den, they were all queued and sitting around like a beeline, boys and girls on either side. Their facial expression was filled with innocence and wondered what was going around….We too were looking diffident how to break the ice. We all were toying with an idea and suddenly it struck Rashi- Why not narrate a story on Diwali, its importance and belief. Children were too excited to listen and were carefully hearing the story with full vigour. It was after this all the elders became gung-ho and explored their talents with children. What more could bring smiles to tiny faces were yummy chocolates and their favourite crayon colours.
Everyone had gone to an imaginative world specially tiny-tots exploring their artistic skills where one of them desired to be pilot and sketched a aeroplane for himself or one of them desired to have beautiful house, some loved animals so much like cats, dogs, horse & elephants. Thoughts to sketch animals looked simple but daunting especially after such long gap and it was then our cheerful Sargent-Hasnain turned out to be magician and did the tricks. Next in line was to paint the Diwali Diyas with those little hands trying to brush it slowly and steadily with glittery around it. Each of us became mentor to one of the kids be it Deep, Hasnain, Rashi, Amrita, Tipti, Tejas, Pooja, Swati, Manish or myself. Everyone was so engrossed it looked as if life was not beyond this and it meant the whole world. Each one became mentor to one or the other child. Each Child was excited to display his or her creativeness and screaming around for the ear to listen that “I am the Best”.
It was time to sing, dance and listen to whacky music. Children were burgeoning like flowers to spread their fragrance. To encourage them, came out Tipti with full exuberance to teach few dance steps and lovely songs to mimic, supported by entire group. The whole environment was vibrant and pure. Photographs were taken to relive and cherish those memories with perky faces.
It was a fantabulous experience which gave immense satisfaction to our soul and mind. Each and every moment could be enchanted for the years to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Illuminating Lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
